AUSTAR Nutsche filter-dryer is widely applied to solid-liquid separation in pharmaceutical, fine chemical, chemical, and food industries. It can operate in multiple processes, including filtrating, displacement washing, slurry washing, vacuum drying, and fluidized-bed drying. It can discharge wet cake, slurry, and mother liquid, or dry the filter cake to a water content of less than 0.1%. 

The benefits of innovative design include:

• Diversified filtering materials: the filter plate design enables users to make various choices of filtering materials, i.e. filter cloth, single layer metal mesh, or multi-layer sintered metal mesh;

• Lateral discharge valve: metal line seal, reduce dead spot as much as possible and avoid compromising cleanliness in relation to the use of O-ring. The valve can satisfy the working conditions of pressure and vacuum seals;

•  Heated filter plate: fully welded, provide heat to the cake directly from the bottom, so that heat can pass through all contact surfaces of the filter to improve drying efficiency;

• Air knife system: small nozzles are arranged in the bottom circumference of the stirrer to blow the products towards the discharge valve;

• Discharging isolator of OEB5 containment level: specified design for handling cytotoxic materials or HPAPIs;

• Integrated PAT technology, using near-infrared measurement device, online monitoring of solvent residues.
